St. James Cathedral, Seattle, known for its stunning 1994 renovation as well as its extensive outreach and arts programs, is pleased to host the 2019 Cathedral Ministry Conference.
St. James Cathedral is the cathedral for the Archdiocese of Seattle and the parish church for a large and diverse community of more than 2,400 families. Situated high on a hill, St. James plays both sentinel and beacon as it stands watch over a vibrant city, calling people to prayer, challenging them to justice, enticing them with beauty. Since its noteworthy restoration and renovation of 1994, the cathedral has become known for its beautiful liturgies, its critically-acclaimed music program, and its extensive and innovative programs of outreach to the poor. St. James Cathedral has also become Seattle’s ecumenical and inter-faith gathering place at times of crisis and mourning, a center for the arts, and a crossroads for civic conversation.
The 2019 Cathedral Ministry Conference will, as in past years, offer three keynote presentations that will be of interest to all who are engaged in cathedral ministry as well as workshops aimed at a variety of more particular interests and concerns. The Conference will also make use of 112 year-old cathedral itself in order to explore issues of renovation and restoration.
